The Helms are a Southern Gospel and Christian Country group started by Lyle & Helen Helm and includes a son, Darrell Glenn Helm and a good friend John LeMaster. Lyle grew up in church. His dad was an evangelical pastor, his mother played piano, so that left Lyle as a small child to use the pews as his bassinet. There he learned to love God, sing and play the guitar.As a teenager Lyle had his own live 30 minute weekly radio show at WAIN in Columbia, KY. Helen heard him on the radio before they met. She fell in love with his voice and said "I've just GOT to meet this guy"! A few weeks later Lyle and a friend of his happened to visit the church Helen attended. His friend introduced them, and they have been making beautiful music ever since. Helen is an accomplished singer who has appeared on The Nashville Network, three times.

They are blessed with two sons, Darrell & Terry. As well as singing with the Helms, Darrell also plays Bass and steel guitars. The adopted brother of the group is John LeMaster. He has a unique voice and is a wonderful singer. In addition to serving as music director to some large congregations in the Louisville area, John is also a dedicated minister.
