New Jerusalem Bluegrass

New Jerusalem Bluegrass is a family bluegrass gospel group consisting of:

Mom, Diana "Dee" Boggs: lead and harmony vocals, plays acoustic bass, mandolin, rhythm guitar, and autoharp.

Dad, Rusty Boggs: plays acoustic lead guitar, banjo, dobro (and sings some when we can get him to!)

The highlights of the group are their two daughters:

Calina Boggs – sings lead and harmony vocals, plays fiddle, mandolin, and banjo, guitar, dobro (to name a few!), and is the song writer for the group. Calina has not only won vocal competitions (and her first fiddle contest at age seven).

Candy Boggs – sings lead and harmony vocals, plays upright bass, mandolin, guitar, Irish drum, some clawhammer banjo, (and piano when we let her!). Candy has won many vocal competitions right along with her sister. Candy h as a big strong voice and is often referred to as “Little Powerhouse,” and is one of the best slappin-est upright players to be found.

This version of the group started out when a little two-year old Calina was singing with her mom and dad in church and began asking for a fiddle. She got her fiddle at age seven and there began the bluegrass group – New Jerusalem Bluegrass.
Rusty and Diana have both been Christians since very early ages, and then the Lord let them meet and marry. When the Lord blessed them with their children they knew to raise them in knowledge of the Lord and dedicated them to His service.…Calina and Candy then both gave their hearts to the Lord at age four and their desire to work for the Lord using the talents the Lord has allowed them to have has continued to deepen.

Original song by Calina – “Crossing That Bridge Tomorrow” stays in the top ten on the Powersource Bluegrass Charts (made it a ll the way to #3!)
Performed at the Ryman Auditorium with “Sunday Mornin’ Country” 2008
5 Top 10 Nominations at the ICM Awards Nashville, TN. 2007 and 2008
Performed at the Gibson Café, Nashville, Tn. in November 2007

2006 1st place award winner ICM/CCMA talent competition in Nashville, TN
2005 3rd place winners of talent competition in Nashville, TN. sponsored by CCMA and CMT.
Recipients of the Ohio Governor’s Horizon Group of the Year Award.
Winners of many fair, festival and local competitions, soloist, duet, best group and best instrumentalists awards.
Television appearances throughout the U.S. and globally. Their music is played on radio stations throu ghout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
